Introduction to Contemplative Art
This Introduction to Contemplative Art Workshop focuses on a meditative approach to creating art. Artist Suzanne Frazier will define Contemplative Art, present a meditative approach to art making, and give participants time to create a drawing using oil pastels. Art is the perfect metaphor for the contemplative experience. You will explore ways to access your creativity, support your artistic style and express your heart-centered perspective. If you have always wanted to explore drawing in your own style in a supportive atmosphere or wanted to draw from a meditative point-of-view, this is the workshop for you.
No art experience is necessary! For participants with no art-making experience, you will have the opportunity to discover your creativity in a safe, supportive environment. For experienced artists, the workshop will expand your creative experience to inclue a meditative approach to your personal expression.
The materials fee includes:
a box of 36 oil pastels
printed handout materials
- all of which the students get to take home with them.
Since 1992, Suzanne Frazier has taught oil pastel drawing classes in her studio and art retreats at the Abbey of St. Walburga, The Creative Life Center, and Ghost Ranch. She combines a BFA degree in Studio Arts from the University of Colorado with a BA degree in Philosophy to create a new approach to art making. Suzanne's art studio is located in Longmont, CO.
Please note: Workshops MUST have a minimum of 5 people registered AT LEAST one week in advance in order to be held. In the event of insufficient pre-registration, the workshop will be cancelled and your registration will be refunded in full.
